Is there a simple way to check to see if a car amp is working (just getting power) before wiring everything up?

use a DC regulated power supply from radio shack.. or a car battery.
connect ground, power, and REM.
connect a speaker
connect RCAs to any AV receiver or radio and see if the speaker plays
