What is the easiest way to tell if my subwoofer is being underpowered by my amp? Is there a sound? Can I use an ampmeter on the speaker terminals on my amp? I was just expecting alot more bass than I have now. I have one Infinity 12" subwoofer (reference series), 2 6x9's (running off of HU) and updated front speakers (Legacy, running off HU). And my amp is a POS that I bought off of ebay...bad choice...I know....Also, where can I find a decibal measurerer? Thanks in advance. Also, my car is a 1982 El Camino, so my cab space is very small...for this reason I expected it to be even louder too....
Also look up the specs on the amp you bought and compare to the Infity specs. If the RMS of the amp is much less than that of the sub than you are underpowering it.

my sub is 300wrms, but I have no specs on my amp except that it is "supposedly" 2000 watts by 4 channels and I have two channels bridged to my subwoofer. I don't know what the rms wattage is for the amp....Any suggestions?

That's 2000 watts peak, and from the price and looking at it, no way are you getting that much in rms, which in what you are looking for, I doubt if that amp could even run that sub~

yeah, I know...I actually paid less for it about 60 bucks with the amp wiring kit...but it does run my sub...my sub shakes my windshield and rear view mirror, it's just not that "loud"...my mom's Pontiac Vibe seems to be louder...What would you guys suggest that's cheap for me to run my subwoofer?
