I am relativley new to the car audio industry, recently beginning to plan out my sound system for my car. I have been into electronics for a long time and fully understand system set up and can probably wire up just about any audio system.

my question is (i listen to mostly rock music + some heavy metal) i was consider wether to buy 2 10" subs or 2 12" subs.

i was woundering from thoes who have experience with car audio, will i lose much punchy bass compared to boomy base(wich i would rather not have) (hence the sealed box) from a 12 or 10 inch sub

BTW The Equipment Is

Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 2 [4 ohm] (10" or 12")
BTW is there a real difference in 4 ohm vs 8 ohm subs

Sony Xplod Specality Series XM-SD22X 1200 watt amp
200 watt rms x2 @ 4 ohms

Rockford Fosgate Power 1 Farad Digital Capicator CPCD10-03

Q-Logic QLH-.6510DS Sub Box
(which i noticed the 10" sub is recomended for .65 cubic feet sealed which is what the box's internal volume is per chamber) (but the 12 incher is recomended for .85 cubic feet and that box has 1.0 cubic feet peer chamber)
Make any difference???

i would go 2 12's, you won't loos much if any SQ and you will gain more bass, as far as your equipment, have you bought it yet?? because if you haven't give us your budget(for amp/subs/box/kit) because you can do better then that system, and you don't need a capacitor

punchy, boomy.. it's not so much the driver diameter as it is the motor control that affects this.
what you want is a pair of 12" subs with a good BL (strong motor control of the moving mass/cone) and plenty of power to allow the magnet structure/motor to control that mass.

then you'll have lots of hard hitting, deep, tight bass.

this is a matter of quality playing a more important role than quantity so to speak

plus, minus the capicitor i could spend it on DVC subs for around the same Price (but would have to contribute to a more powerful amp)

price wise i would prefer to spend under 200 dollars a piece on subs 10 or 12 inch (I drive a 2000 toyota camry SLE)

For an amp under 300 dollars

I could build a good box but waas trying to cut the time and hard labor hours

also plan later to dynamat trunk and doors and at an actuator amp rack(s) and insane neon lighting (considering the power concernes (my rother works at an auto shop) im getting an insanley high output alternater where i could run a piece of equipmant off it (Its is really insane)

I asked an SPL competitor about that sub a while back. He told me that it was the biggest piece of junk MTX made. No musicality what so ever, and only really used for burps. Don't waste ur money.
