Nice in the upper registers and the mids but marred by a sloppy base. The persistence of reverberation or shudder in the base after the music has moved on - but only slightly -- almost like a lazy or slow note. This is irritating and Kenwood can do better. I have no doubts that Kenwood know what they are doing in releasing substandard goods. This becomes self defeating; you purchase these wanting a larger and richer base. (junking your 6x9) I thought it might be the installation so I mounted them on sturdier board and sealed them.
Anyone had any similar experiences?
I am using a Kenwood amp KAC823 (80 watt 2 channel) which is older model but a gem for clarity and bringing out inner detail on a CD. I find this amp very satisfactory when used with an entry level Kenwood CD/Tuner.
