I was wondering if anyone here know approximately how many amps this amp would draw from my alternator. I know if is suppose to be a "Super D-Class Amp" but i doubt that that is suppose to be that big of a deal. I need something extremely efficient and not really expensive to power 1 15" TDX that will not kill my alt.
use the formula watts = amps x volts...amps = watts/volts...stock batteries usually power with 12.8 - 13.2 volts...basic aftermarket batteries usually power with 13.7-14.5 volts ...take the rms watts of the amp and divide...that is your amp draw
Well, that would come out to prob like 25 amps over my alt rating of 100. I am thinking about going with a Diamond Audio D-6 1000.1 amp. I figured that that would be about 25 amps under my alternators rating or so. If i am wrong when i say this please let me know.
