Speaker Placement Problem

I have a 12 x 21 room but, due to the configuration of the room (windows, doors, fireplace, etc) my HT is set up in one corner of the room. Our listening position is the couch that is placed (centered) against one of the long walls. Creating a "surround" environment is a real challenge. Any suggestions of how to best place my speakers?

To start from the rear channels I would mount them directly on both sides of your listening position or get speakers stands on both sides of your couch, your distance any from the couch is for you to decide.

Then for your center, place it at ear level, it can be placed on top or below the TV just aim it with a laser pointed or something of that matter.

Front, try to keep them the same distance apart as you are from the center channel to the listening position.

Then the subwoofer. Just place around the room till it sounds right to you. Here are some links that may help you out:
