Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | Dave has started shutting us down as of this week. You'd think they'd be happy to get our $ since they can't do it legitimately. I'm going to be very pis-sed at having to get a canuck sat or digital cable package... |
Bronze Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 67 Registered: Apr-05 | My sub is still working. |
Craig 2 Unregistered guest | they caught 2 guys in the condo across the street of where I live (Toronto). I asked my dealer but he said theres no problem as long as you dont connect the phone line |
Bronze Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 69 Registered: Apr-05 | Correct !!!!! |
Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | My dealer organized numerous groups. I've been on a sub for almost a year. He doesn't know how Dave figured it out. Could be someone plugged in their phone jack, or Dave checked addresses. At first they said they were going to issue new cards. Then they said accounts were being shut down for being fraudulent. Maybe just bad luck for my dealer's groups, or (bad news for you soon)Dave is getting busy figuring out which subs are not legit. In any event, I'm toast. I hate Rogers, but seing as I have Rogers basic cable and high speed internet, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet on digital cable if I want any kind of decent channel selection. Bummer... |
LK Unregistered guest | Mad as hell...your dealer and his customers are just plain STUPID!...plain and simple...DTV knows nothing, unless someone pulls a bonehead move or drops a dime! |
Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | Well, I suppose it only takes one person to make a bonehead move to screw it up for everyone. Or, Dave really does check a certain amount of addresses to see if the accounts are legit. In any event, all of my dealer's accounts are being shut down. I'm more p-issed off at having to switch systems than spending more money. I just spent half an hour at Roger's web site trying to figure out how their packages work and I've blown a mental gasket. Shared Ultimate Dave Package was great (though of course full hack was heaven). If anyone has any advice as to best legit Canuck package that has movies, golf channel and kids channels, I'd love some direction. I think my 5 year trip with DTV is finally over. |
Anonymous | You bunch of fcuking idiots....why do you think you got caught? Probably because you had more than 4 receivers per account...do you think that DTV is stupid? If you have over 4 per account...it's only a matter of time before you get caught and get screwed up the azz by Dave....but most of you would probably like that...ROTF...you dumb fcukers... |

Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | Take a pill, breathe deeply. My dealer had max 4 per account. |
Bronze Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 73 Registered: Apr-05 | Dtv also pays good money for tips on this stuff!! Maybe you had a rat ? |
Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | Dealer says he has "theories" but will never know. He is throwing in the towel on DTV and hacking, which says something since he's been very reliable and doing it for years. Advising us now to go legit and talking about antennas (antennae?) for picking up HD signals. I'm still suprised that DTV wouldn't look the other way about Canadian subs (sharing or otherwise) since its all gravy to them (not being in the Canadian market). Off to the Rogers store at lunch to see how much they'll bleed me for digital cable... |
Bronze Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 76 Registered: Apr-05 | Get an fta they are good. But wait till june to see what happens with n2 tho. |
Bummed as Hell Unregistered guest | Got Rogers digital cable today. This sucks totally compared to P3 hack and even shared DTV sub. Will follow these sites to see if something useful will ever again become of my P4, but I doubt it. |
Silver Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 102 Registered: Apr-05 | FTA'S are the way to go but wait till may or june for the n2 to be fixed. If it can be. |

Mad as Hell Unregistered guest | Response from a member of Mili's Marauders about getting a new shared sub with DTV: "Forget it. I had subs thru 2 sites that were shut down by Directv. They are aggressively shutting down any sites that offer subs to Canadians and shutting down any accounts that they think are Canadian. Save your money." Sounds like what happened to me... |
Silver Member Username: Maple_leafPost Number: 145 Registered: Apr-05 | If you don't have a family member with a dtv sub you can hit up . FORGET IT. |
Anonymous | Right so, Looks like I'm S.O.L. Thanks anyway, I'll keep looking as i don't want to purchase Dish Network. Maybe Dave will give us a break, (Fat Chance) Do you honestly see Dave coming back at all? For me to Sub to Dave myself it would cost over $100us for really only 3 channels i want 613, 614, 615. Fox,Gol Tv and Setanta. If I could sub basic and buy those 3 channels i would, but it seems i need the total get every package before it will give me 613, 614 and 615. I tryed Dave's site to see if i can purchase these 3 stations with basic but it seems its a no go. Anymore help you can give me or point me to is app, cheers again. Deco decoman99@hotmail.com |

kyIe the jew Unregistered guest | I read this at rookies site Directv Files Lawsuit DirecTV said it filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Southern Texas against 12 individuals, including at least 10 former customer service agents, it said were allegedly involved in a scheme at a Texas call center to fraudulently activate programming accounts. DirecTV said it believes those accused in the lawsuit allegedly attempted to defraud the company by creating subscription accounts with false information and fraudulently linking access cards to existing accounts that enabled others to receive DirecTV programming without authorization or proper payment. The suit was filed following a lengthy investigation by DirecTV's Office of Signal Integrity and legal department into improper activities at the call center in Pharr, Texas, the company said. The center is operated by a third-party vendor that is under contract to DirecTV to provide customer support. DirecTV also said investigators determined no customer information was compromised by the call center employees involved in the scheme. The company claims in its litigation that the defendants violated the Federal Communications Act, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (wiretap laws) and Texas state law. Other claims also include unjust enrichment, tortious interference, civil conspiracy and fraud. DirecTV said the lawsuit also claimed the defendants were buying DirecTV access cards to set up additional bogus accounts and shipping cards around Texas, as well as to New York, North Carolina and other locations around the country. This is the fourth federal lawsuit involving allegations of fraud filed by DIRECTV in the past seven months. Janella McKenzie and William Bernard, of Sunrise, Fla.; Veronica Whitfield, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Vinrese Stewart, of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; Marlon Trowers, of Orange, N.J.; Karl Greenland, of Laurelton, N.Y.; and Lisa Mazyck, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; along with a number of unidentified defendants (listed as John Does in the complaint), created false subscription accounts and illegally activated hundreds of access cards and receivers nationwide for individuals, who then paid the defendants to receive DIRECTV programming without authorization or proper payment to DIRECTV. Paul Arthur Cater, Waterloo, Ontario; Mile Turkalj (aka Mike Turkalj), Kitchener, Ontario; Martyn Gillott (aka Martin Gillott), Beamsville, Ontario; Theresa Patterson, Kitchener, Ontario; and Karen Gauthier, Shakespeare, Ontario. The defendants were affiliated with a number of businesses that were also identified or named as defendants in the lawsuit including Zed Marketing, Inc. and Huworks.tv, which DIRECTV believes are the biggest players in the scheme. The two companies, along with several key defendants in this case, have a long history of pirate activity and several of them have been charged criminally in other signal theft cases. Other businesses allegedly playing prominent roles in the fraud were Eonme.com. Inc. copy and pasted from another site |

I as well as many others appreciate your help here and yeah it's a place for some people to vent, but if we just ignore the obvious and help the others where we can, it'll all come out in the wash. So you and I will agree to disagree sometimes. No harm intended. You help me...I'll help you when I can. If I'm wrong with what I say, tell me. |
LK Unregistered guest | Is that a threat to me?...if so,then I guess zero tolerance means "NO freedom of speech or opinions",rights guaranteed in the USA under our American constitution..Its countries like Iran,Iraq,Saudi,Somalia, etc that do not allow freedom of speech...and zero tolerance is a term initiated and related to drug use,not freedom of speech! |

DTV has armed itself in Canada and is starting to put people in jail and fines. Your dealer is trying to protect himself before he is caught. |
LK Unregistered guest | Your dealer is probably whats cookin...its probably gettin hot in his kitchen,so he wants out...or he has some friends who have been doing Dishnet or Bev who he wants to hook up to DTV,in your place....DTV has announced no upcoming changes.. |
Lonnie Smith Unregistered guest | Thanks guys... yuor probly right. This morning I checked with the other 2 dealers here in town and 1 of thems closed and the other only offers on a 1 year deal. Guess I'll try to get a sub somewhere else. Thanks for advise. |
