I am running out of patients with my NAD T761. It is not reading digital through the optical inputs. Humming and buzzing sounds are all the time. It cuts out.
The dealer I bought it from says he will have to send it away for repair but wont estimate or quote a cost for fixing the unknown problem. I have ran out of warranty two years ago so I will cover all costs.
Is the reciever worth repairing or should I start over??
I want a reciever that will cost under $1500 cdn but have the music performance my NAD once had. I am seeing great posts on Yamaha. Could Yamaha replace my dying NAD?
Yamaha won't have the same qualtiy of music playback as you're used to with your NAD. The higher-end Yamahas are decent machines though but more geared towards film IMO. If that's your gig I say go to an audio shop, pick one up, take it home and have a listen in your own room.
With performance like you've had from your T761 I can understand if you don't want another NAD but I like my 753. You could consider trying a new NAD -- especially if music is more your thing.
