They offer $280 shields. If anyone has references where to get an antiglare shield, or used Mightyshield - I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks Mark |
punkrockbob Unregistered guest | make you own!! go to www.cpfilms.com they make all kind of tinted glass, lexan etc..and you can buy the film alone, it is static cling,so if you don't like the shade pull it off and get the contrast you like.I have an hitachi ultra shield and it's no comparision to the shield i made. use you imagination and customize your life! good luck. |

punkrockbob Unregistered guest | forgot to mention you can put "optical coating" in your search engine and you will find that quite a few places will make you a shield if you give them measurements to your tv. it's pretty cost effective. use your imagination and customize your life! good luck |
New member Username: Mt_Post Number: 2 Registered: Jan-05 | punkrockbob, I asked cpfilms for the kind of the products that I could use - they don't specialize in such large films. Do you know any other vendors that may do - search on the web does produce number of hits but they mostly seem to be b2b manufacturers. Here is their reply: Thank you for your interest in our antiglare products. Unfortunately, we do not have a product that could be used as you require. Actually, the only antiglare product we currently offer is for picture frames and they are very small sheets. Thanks!! |
punkrockbob Unregistered guest | WOW, I called(C.P) and they gave me totally different info, sorry to put you onto a wildgoose chase!! I did a recent search by putting "optical coatings" in the search box and it did display several places that claimed you could call for a quote to have anti-glare filters made. I will try and find one particular site that I came across that looked to be a possible option for you.I"LL hit you up later with the info and try to pin some more companies down. Have you heard of clearvision usa?? they make a spray that apparently you spray onto the shield that is clear and it stops the light from refracting off the shiney surface. there are several sites that sell this by different manufactors, punch in'anti-glare spray" in your search box. in the meantime I'll try to work on the other coatings issue ,I also am a engineer so I"LL ask people in the engineering field if they know of any company that might be helpful. talk to ya soon. punkrockbob. |
