I've got a yamaha 995 receiver with 5 speaker setup, samsung dvd-p721m dvd player. The weirdest thing happens every once in a while. While watching a DVD, the receiver will shut off suddenly. This often happens during exciting moments (quite strange, i know, but it's true).
yamaha 995? not a weak amp. turned out to be a speaker with a short.

Weak amp.. pfft! I think 'Jack DOG yo' might have mispept 'nice'!
Yeah, I was going to say it'll be a wire somewhere. It happened with me. It would keep switching on 'protection-mode' and it turned out to be a single stand of wire across the plugs.
