i am playing w/ WinISD and i designed a vented enclosure for my sub. when i click on the "port gain" tab, it says that the box has like +9.8db of gain.
is this for real? can a vented box really have that much gain over a sealed one???

Sometimes what may look good in theory may not be practical in reality and vise versa.

typical vented box advantage is 3 dB. some bandpass designs may give 6-9dB gains.
