I rarely watch broadcast TV (too many commercials), only DVDs. Am looking for a 27-32" CRT TV on which DVDs look great. Leading candidates are the Advent 27" & 32" HDTV monitors. Good numbers and great prices. The 27" is selling for $360-380 at Best Buy and KMart.
i'd stay away from that advent. One of our displays at best buy had some sort of weird problem i'd never seen on a tube TV before. I wasn't able to diagnose it, but it looked like running ink on the glass itself. I know panasonic makes a decend 27/32 inch CRT HDTV. But if you watch mostly DVDs, I'd look into a widescreen HDTV. Do some shopping on widescreen tubes in your price range and come back to me so i can tell you my thoughts on it.
