The avr230 is now in the $300-400 (street price). I see there is a Pioneer VSX-1014TX out there for the same price, feature packed. Have any of you heard these two receivers. Now that I am in the $300-400 range I am worried that their are better choices than the H/K for my Athena speakers. |

I have not heard the 1014tx, but i have heard the 914 model and it was quite pleasing for a low budget receiver. I think it's certainly better than Onkyo, Yamaha, and Sony's receivers in this price range. I would say that features would be the deciding factor in those receivers you mentioned with a slight edge to the 1014tx IMO |
