help Unregistered guest | Hi, I'm completely new to satellite tv. I'm very confused about the different cards, programmers, rom 3 rom 10 married unmarried and all these terms. People tell me all the time it's all very simple, but it sounds verrry complicating. I have no knowledge at all. I'm just trying to get involved in this for personal use. Right now I have a dishnetwork dish mounted on my roof outside, I have an echostar dish 2800 reciever. I don't use it, I don't have any subscription and have never used a satellite system before. All I want to know is what I will need to unlock all the channels, and what to do when it gets zapped. I understand there are many sites that you have to subscribe to for new scripts when the cards go bad? I read that those sites are better than public scripts because public script sites are easier to break. I dont know. I went to a site www.godss.com and they had a dishnet starter package including a magic card, the programmer and a few other equipment to do the box keys and stuff (whatever that is). Basically, I want to open all the channels without subscribing or paying a monthly fee to dss. Any help would be appreciated I'm trying to understand what equipment I need to buy and what sites I need to go to for updates when getting zapped. I don't even know if I need a different reciever than the one I already have for compatibility issues? How long do the cards last? I read private scripts usually last for 2 months at a time. How long before the card is obsolete and then I have to buy a new card? All these questions I have. |
