3m3rson | Has any one heard which manufacturers besides Denon are slated to put A/V recievers on the market with the combined Dolby Virtual Surround / Pro Logic II technology? My instinct tells me that if you combine this with an integrated DVD player in a compact design and two speakers, you've got yourself a whole new genre of HTIBs. |
Derek | Dolby Virtual Speaker (See http://www.dolby.com/dvs/white.paper.html) is mostly used for computers. I have a copy of PowerDVD that has it. It's mostly designed to watch DVDs on laptops. You may already have Dolby Virtual "Surround". There is a provision is Dolby Pro-Logic called Dolby 3 and Phantom that works with 3 or 4 speakers only. Your equipments manual may mention it or your receiver may switch to it automaticly if the rear or center speakers are set to "N". Hope this helps. |
