VIZIO OLED 4K TV Set to Arrive Fall 2020

New for 2020-2021

Vizio just released their 2020-2021 TV lineup, which includes the company’s first-ever OLED 4K TVs in conjunction with 19 LED-backlit 4K LCD TVs in sizes up to 85-inches. When checking model numbers look for “H” to signify the 2020 model, even though Vizio is calling these 2021 TVs. Let’s breakdown each series and its features from highest to lowest cost per screen size.

OLED Series

Built for the consumer who demands nothing less than the best, the VIZIO OLED 4K HDR Smart TV–available in 55- and 65-inch screen sizes–uses self-emitting pixels to offer absolute black levels, intense color, infinite contrast, and unrivaled viewing angles. Inside, VIZIO’s IQ Ultra^™ processor is engineered to handle the most demanding OLED picture quality requirements. A striking borderless 4mm-thin aesthetic matches the elegance of any space. The TV’s luxurious design integrates perfectly with VIZIO’s new Elevate^™ Sound Bar, a 5.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos^® and DTS:X^® audio solution with revolutionary Adaptive Height Speakers, creating a seamless, premium home theater experience. Customers can experience this unique combination during fall 2020. 

The VIZIO OLED 4K HDR Smart TV offers previously impossible contrast with perfectly black pixels. Movies look as beautiful as they do in a theater, sports are clearer and more engaging, and video game graphics are even more realistic. Combined with the TV’s advanced processor, Ultra Color Spectrum supports more than one billion accurate colors, which are spectacularly set against OLED’s pure black. VIZIO OLED TVs support all current high dynamic range (HDR) formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+, to reveal breathtaking nuances from the latest entertainment. OLED also affords a wider viewing angle than conventional televisions, with no loss of image quality for family and friends sitting anywhere in the room.

To meet VIZIO’s high performance standards, the company paired the OLED TV with the revolutionary IQ Ultra^™ processor. With the addition of the new 3D color engine, viewers get a more accurate picture right out of the box. The all-new IQ Ultra’s superb 64-bit image processing has the power to enhance contrast by adjusting the brightness of individual pixels, reducing noise, increasing detail and giving every image greater depth and dimension. The advanced IQ Ultra^™ processor further enriches picture quality with AI and machine-learning capabilities. 

For high-end gamers, VIZIO’s ProGaming Engine offers a level of graphics support rarely found in consumer televisions. Variable Refresh Rate (40Hz-120Hz) syncs a game’s changing framerate and the TV’s refresh rate to reduce stuttering and tearing. The ProGaming Engine’s faster response time and the lower input lag further improve image detail so users can better see all the action and respond more decisively. In addition, Auto Game Mode with auto low latency engages seamlessly for game content for the best possible experience on every game. VIZIO OLED also has the bandwidth to support resolutions up to 4K at 120Hz.

P-Series Quantum X

Pushing the boundaries of what High Dynamic Range can achieve, VIZIO’s 2021 P-Series Quantum X has the best LED picture performance, offering superior brightness, contrast, and color performance. With up to 3000 nits of peak brightness for brilliant highlights and incredible detail, as well as 800 nits full screen brightness for true-to-life outdoor scenes and more, the P-Series Quantum X will bring the most thrilling images to new life. The full-array LED backlight provides up to an unbelievable 792 zones of local dimming to ensure the deepest black levels and eye-popping contrast. Further elevating picture performance is one of the highest-performing Quantum Dot panels in the market, offering 180% more color than the Rec709 color gamut. Available in a 65-, 75-, and now a truly cinematic 85-inch screen size, the P-Series Quantum X was created with uncompromising craftsmanship, including a sleek bezel-less design.

P-Series Quantum

VIZIO’s new P-Series Quantum model offers premium 4K HDR picture quality with the IQ Ultra processor and 240 zones of local dimming for detailed highlights and deep, rich blacks. A blazing 1200 nits of peak brightness gives bright scenes a lifelike appearance and, when combined with Quantum Color technology, helps expand the color volume to over 120% to rank among the industry’s top TVs. The VIZIO P-Series Quantum is available in 65- and 75-inch screen sizes. Both the P-Series Quantum and P-Series Quantum X feature an anti-reflective screen that eliminates distracting glare to deliver dark-room performance even in a brightly lit environment.

M-Series Quantum

VIZIO’s 2021 M-Series Quantum brings premium features to mid-range price points, delivering upgraded picture quality, HDMI 2.1 inputs, and VIZIO’s lightning-quick IQ Active^™ processor for a crisp, detailed 4K picture and high-performance gaming. Both the 55 and 65-inch MQ8-Series Quantum models, available exclusively at Amazon.com, supply 90 local dimming zones–doubled from last year— and 800 nits of peak brightness to enhance contrast, deepen black levels, and give HDR content even greater realism. MQ7-Series Quantum TVs, available at most major retailers, offer 30 local dimming zones for deep black levels. All M-Series include the ProGaming Engine^™ with Auto Game Mode plus Variable Refresh Rate for smoother video game graphics.

V Series

The lowest cost V-Series offers exceptional 4K HDR picture and next-level gaming at an incredible value. Available in screen sizes ranging from 40 to 70 inches, the feature-packed V-Series brings the same broad HDR support, the latest SmartCast performance and features, and future-ready HDMI 2.1 inputs with eARC. VIZIO’s IQ Active^™ processor brings all the same contrast improving, noise reducing, and detail enhancing picture quality improvements to give the V-Series a smooth, natural, and razor-sharp image. The V-Gaming Engine offers lower input lag, more responsive gameplay, and auto low-latency for amazingly clear graphics with smooth motion to maximize every player’s performance.

To help take advantage of the expanded picture quality capabilities of its 4K TV lineup, VIZIO is excited to announce support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, and now HDR10+. Support for all consumer HDR formats means viewers do not need to worry if their TV can display HDR entertainment in the appropriate format. 

SmartCast 4.0

All new VIZIO TVs include SmartCast for streaming shows. New for 2020 is SmartCast 4.0, which is faster and more responsive, with more free channels and popular apps built-in, and more wireless streaming features for the ultimate smart home experience. Thanks to the new IQ TV processor at the heart of VIZIO’s 2021 4K TV lineup, SmartCast lets users instantly jump in and out of the most popular apps, scroll more quickly to discover new content, and more. The hardware speed improvement for 4K 2021 models complements a recent software performance boost that is backward compatible and available to all SmartCast users with TVs dating as far back as 2016. 

SmartCast delivers endless entertainment as users’ favorite apps come together on one screen, including: Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, YouTube TV, Prime Video, CBS All Access, NBC and many more. New apps are continuously being added, such as Movies Anywhere, which is now available on SmartCast TVs. Other top entertainment apps like the Apple TV app and Peacock  are coming later this summer. VIZIO is also making it easier than ever for viewers to use their preferred smart home device with SmartCast. SmartCast provides the flexibility to choose between Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa-enabled devices. Users can now more easily integrate their VIZIO SmartCast TV with their preferred smart home system, so they can more easily control the TV with their voice, view their Google Nest camera feed on the TV, and so much more. 

SmartCast users’ phones become a sophisticated touchscreen remote with the redesigned SmartCast mobile app.  With Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in users can stream entertainment from their favorite apps on their phone, tablet, or laptop to their SmartCast TV. Users who are working or teaching from home can use these features to turn their VIZIO TV into a wireless second display by streaming from their laptop to their TV so they can share, edit, and create with ease. The VIZIO OLED 4K HDR SmartCast TV will be available fall 2020. The rest of the 2020-2021 4K TVs will begin release today.
