The Roth AV introduced the KRadio, its first Wi-Fi enabled Internet/DAB tabletop radio with iPod/iPhone dock that lets you listen to thousands of Internet radio stations — as well as DAB and FM. It also doubles as an alarm clock and portable iPod speaker dock.
Simply connect to your network — using its wired Ethernet port or via wireless Wi-Fi — and you can access thousands of Internet radio stations. Of course, so much choice can result in lots of searching so the KRadio employs the latest Frontier V6.2 module for supremely quick channel hopping — as well as 10 channel pre-sets. Ideal for those with music and speech tastes beyond the conventional as well as those looking for overseas stations, online radio listening is growing in popularity as well as, crucially, audio quality.
For fans of DAB the KRadio provides a dependable digital tuner, again with 10 preset options. That said, good old FM isn't dead yet — far from it in fact — and the KRadio is delighted to deliver the superb sound of analogue via its FM tuner.
A twin alarm means the KRadio is as happy in the bedroom as it is in the kitchen or living room. And, even better, you can select choose from one of the thousands of Internet radio stations to wake up to — or, if you prefer, wake up to your docked iPod or iPhone. The built-in iDevice dock delivers your portable's iTunes library — as well tunes from the likes of iPhone music-based Apps, such as Spotify — plus charges your Apple machine's battery.
Superbly equipped with cutting edge tech, the KRadio also comes stylishly dressed in a beautiful gloss black finish (with more colour options to come) — so surely the only incident that could possibly spoil your enjoyment would be finding its looks spoiled by your fingerprints. Fortunately Roth also has this eventuality covered — the KRadio employs ingenious touch-motion controls meaning you don't even need to touch the fascia to operate the unit. Add the supplied remote control and your KRadio should stay looking (and sounding) as good as new for many, many years to come.
The man behind Roth AV, James Roth, says, “This is our first foray into the DAB/Internet radio market-sector and we believe we have designed a product that meets and exceeds the requirements of our customers. There's no doubt that we have covered all possible connectivity formats in what is already recognised as a particularly elegant design.”
